Maximo Park will be returning to Ireland culminating in a headline appearance at the Lovebox Weekender at Marley Park in Dublin on the 23rd August. 

Other acts appearing include N.E.R.D & Gorillaz Soundsystem (V & DJ Set).

Maximo Park are pleased to announce a special one off concert at the Forum in Kentish Town, London on 28th May 2008!
 
Support comes from Mystery Jets, Blood Red Shoes and Pete and the Pirates.
The show is in aid of two cancer charities including The Royal Marsden.
It will be one of the bands few live appearances this year and looks
like being a very special evening. All proceeds from the night will go
to charity.
 
Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 9am here: Tickets

are on sale at £20 for general admission and £50 with access to some
free booze, food and dj's at the aftershow. Good luck with getting your
tickets!
 
Paul writes "When someone you know is up against
cancer it makes sense to give them your full support. Since that is
currently the case, and that person is being treated at The Royal
Marsden hospital, which was recently damaged by fire, we decided to do
what we can as a band. What we do best is play concerts and we intend
to give all profit from our gig at The Forum to help rebuild the cancer
unit where they not only look after sufferers but continue to further
our knowledge and treatment of the disease. We've never been a preachy
band or asked people to shell out daft amounts for tickets, but this
show will be well worth the entry fee for a number of reasons."

To celebrate this memorable year and special show at Newcastle Metro Radio Arena on 15th December, the band have been invited by Tyneside brewers Scottish & Newcastle UK to design their own Newcastle Brown Ale label. That's 'Maximo Brown Ale' to you.

Tens of thousands of these bottles have been produced and will be available in a selected number of bars around the country the same day as the arena gig itself!

It's quite an honour and one the good folk of the north east don't bestow regularly. The last (and only) person previously given this responsibility was Alan Shearer on his retirement from football. There's one for your Christmas trivia quizzes!

From Paul:
"So many amazing things have happened for our band in a short space of time and to have our image emblazoned on a Brown label is another addition to that list. It would be great for our band to be as synonymous with Newcastle as the mighty Brown Ale, and it's both amusing and an honour to be able to deface the label in this manner!

Most of our songs were written in the North-East and this collaboration will hopefully add a further dimension to our homecoming at Newcastle Arena this December."

The white and silver 7inches are very limited, numbered and come with free posters featuring handwritten lyrics – in fact they’re so good they’ve fallen foul of the chart rules!  There’s also an enhanced CD to look out for.

The package is intended as a bit of a thank you to fans for the support in 2007.  It's been a very busy year since OEP was released in April and the aim is to round off the year with something a little different!

Maximo have been picked to appear on Radio 1's 40th Anniversary Compilation CD, which will feature 40 current artists doing a cover version each, exclusively for this release - there's one song for every year since Radio 1 began in 1967.

For this task the band have done a version of 'Like I Love You' by Justin Timberlake, which we think sounds pretty special.

We expect the compilation will be released sometime in September, more news soon.

Maximo have been confirmed to headline the FRA Festival in Valencia on September 1st.  Other bands set to appear over the weekend include The Charlatans, Mercury Rev and The Rakes.
The following day they play the Independent Days Festival in Bologna, also on the bill are Nine Inch Nails, Tool & Hot Hot Heat.

Maximo Park's new single, Books From Boxes, is released on 11th June.  It will be the second track lifted from the album Our Earthly Pleasures. 

The formats include two brand new songs, including 'Don McPhee' continuing the obituary series of b-sides, plus the unrecognisable cover of the Proclaimers' 'I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)', which was performed for Jo Whiley's live lounge and lit up the Radio 1 switchboards with requests for it to be released.

Maximo Park will be appearing at Reveal Records in Derby to play a special lunchtime acoustic gig and singing session on Weds 25th April (12.30pm).

The last time the band went to Reveal was when the first Apply Some Pressure single was released.. since then there's been 2 albums and big world tours.  This is somewhat of a thankyou to the people who have been supporters from the off.

Following triumphant album launch shows in Newcastle and London, Maximo Park make two more in-store appearances in the capital to celebrate the release of the new album Our Earthly Pleasures, which looks set to storm into the UK album chart.

The band will play a selection of tracks from the new album, and then remain in the store to meet fans and sign copies of the LP.  Entry is first come first served - so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Maximo Park will launch new album Our Earthly Pleasures in the capital on Monday, 2nd April (the same day the album is in shops) with a tiny show at 100 Club on Oxford Street.

Hometown fans can be the very first to get their hands on the new album in a special HMV opening at midnight this Sunday 1st April.

If that's not enough the band will be a present for a live performance with a signing session shortly after!

To gain entry you must get a wristband which will be given out on a first come first served basis from 11.00am on Sunday at HMV.  Note that's 11 in the morning, not at night.

Please note that due to health and safety issues, this party will now take place in the Baltic's Riverside Restaurant and terrace overlooking the Tyne.

Some big news for you Parkfans!

There have been some rumblings about an album launch party for a while, and we are delighted to announce that the Park have confirmed a show at Newcastle's Baltic Center for Contemporary Art on Wednesday 28th March.

Tickets have now SOLD OUT.

The band are delighted to officially launch the album in their home town, and in a venue that has significantly revitalised art in the region.

Not many people can squeeze in.  Early start required.

Maximo Park have been invited to play a live show at The Liquid Room in Edinburgh for XFM Scotland this Saturday 31st March.

Here's the best bit - we have 10 pairs of tickets to give away through the backstage area of this website.
